Feb. 5th--Clear and sunny with highs of 73 degrees. A great day as we made our way over the high plains and descended down towards El paso. The colors of the grass shimmering in the wind were striking with soft hues of orange, greys and green that defy description. Feb 6th--Stayed in Picacho Peak state park some 50 miles east of Phoenix. We had stayed here on our trip down to Texas and really enjoyed the park so it was nice to return there--Nice large spaces and a chance to fill our fresh water tank with pure spring water.
