Nov.2-After leaving Arkansas we entered Oklahoma,a beautiful state much like the prairies in Canada. The state is home to a number of Indian tribes-Shawnee,Seminole,Cherokee and Shawnee to name a few. Their culture is on display every where we go and is magnificent to see.The temperature here is presently 74 degrees.

Kentucky Horse Farm



Oct.28 we traveled through Kentucky, absolutly fantastic especially around Lexington--Alvina wants to live here. The greenest grass,very relaxed,easy going,horse country. Kentucky has the most beautiful variety of colors and trees.Will return here some day. Stayed at cave City at a Rv campground. Oct.29 we drove to Nashville Tennessee. The temperature when we stopped for the night was 73 degrees-happy-happy. The next morning, Oct. 30th, the weather changed and a severe weather warning was issued for the area with flood,wind and tornado alerts.We thought we could get a ways down the road toward Memphis,a big mistake. We made it about 30 miles when it hit us.Fifty mile an hour winds and torrential rains made it impossible to drive-was all we could do to keep the RV on the road.We took refuge at a gas station where we waited 6 hours for the winds to abate.Later ,towards evening,we did make it to Memphis crossing the mississippi river and entered Arkansas.We are now in a RV park right on the mississippi river. We have now been living in the motor-home for two months and find we really enjoy the life style.Alvina is baking cookies and they smell delicious.Heading towards Little Rock Arkansas tomarrow with the promise of blue skies and warm temperatures.











From Mass.we passed through eastern New york state and entered Connecticut where we spent the night at a rest stop.The scenary was unbelievable with autumn in full bloom and the colors so intense that they seemed almost surreal. Pennslyvania-The furnace state: mining,smelters, factories,smog and miles of blighted trees. The state is a major corridor for tractor trailers and they were literally bumper to bumper as we traveled through the state-not a place to visit.Spent the night near Scranton at a walmart with 24 other RVs-22 of them from Quebec.All the camp-grounds are closed for the season.








After leaving Bedford New Hampshire we headed south through Massachusetts where after passing a small town called Worcester we encountered a weather phenomenon that we had never seen before. In the space of two minutes, while on the ramp entering the freeway, the temperature rose from 53 degrees to 73 degrees causing every window and mirror on the rv to fog up, on the outside,- instantly- ,making it impossible to see.This was particularly worrisome as I was trying to merge into 3 lanes of traffic going 65 miles a hour.Alvina Had to hang out the dinette window,gesturing frantically to the cars along side of us and was able to tell me when it was safe to merge. Go figure-who knew?.I think it took about twenty minutes for my heart rate to return to normal.
