Grand Canyon North Rim,Cameron Arizona

Oct.6th to 7th-- From Jacob Lake we took AZ. Hwy. 67 about 30 miles to the park entrance and a further 14 miles to the North Rim of The Grand Canyon. The walk up to the Grand Canyon Lodge, situated right on the lip of the Canyon, was breathtaking and spectacular.

The Grand canyon at last.

Almost there.

First glimpse of the Canyon

Just another great day.

WOW!
To really appreciate the depth of the Canyon you have to be here.

Today was not the best for taking pictures due to the heavy smog from California.

Elevation at the North Rim is close to 8ooo feet.

This picture alone was worth the trip.

The Lodge is a go to destination for overseas travelers and because of it's popularity, reservations are made years in advance.
A windy day. What a view from this lookout.
The blue line at the top of this picture is actually smog coming in from San Francisco.

These cabins sit right on the rim of the Canyon and have UNBELIEVABLE Views.

The Grand Canyon is a must see.

Bright Angel Point -a walk with fantastic views.

One of the views along the Bright Angel trail.

Scenery along the highway between the North Rim and Cameron Arizona.

The last chance motel.

More scenery along the way.

The Cameron Post Office.

Leaving the North Rim we took the east route around the park and stayed the night at Cameron AZ. before driving to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Great restaurant at the Cameron Trading Post. Note the tin roof.
